“Nailbiter, Vol. 6: The Bloody Truth”

“Well, after just talking about how people put too much emphasis on endings, I have to say the ending on this one let me down a little.

There was a gigantic info dump at the end meant to sort of wrap everything up, but I don’t think it quite made sense, and boy was it a LOT of info all crammed in there.

Personally, if I were to advise on the ending, I would ask whether there might be a more satisfying ending if perhaps the wrap-up wasn’t so beat-by-beat, you know? Like some shit just happened, some was by design, and it’s all sort of falling apart, so who cares?

Also, they keep talking about this Gauntlet, and the ending sets us up so the characters will have no choice but to run the Gauntlet. And then it’s like, Or, wait, we could just run away.

C’mon. Where’s the gauntlet? Don’t talk up a gauntlet and then just leave it alone.”
