“Well, my Kirkmania for this year, after last year’s final reckoning with Walking Dead, was Invincible, and it was another solid ride.
This is a really fun comic, goes a lot of weird and wild places that are perhaps not unfamiliar to comics fans, but if you haven’t read much comics, Invincible would be a great one to get into.
Kirkman, I have to say, does pretty satisfying endings to his series, and I can appreciate that. It’s really difficult to end a series that’s been going for like 15 years, but I think he pulled it off here again.
I’m sort of surprised he’s not more legendary in the comics world. I feel like he’s known outside the comics world as “Walking Dead guy,” but having written this, Invincible, Outcast, Astonishing Wolf-Man, all this really good stuff, I think he deserves a good chunk of cred.”
