“Green Arrow: The Longbow Hunters”

“This was pretty good, although there’s something that didn’t quite click for me.
It’s kind of GA’s Dark Knight Returns, or Frankl Miller’s Daredevil, but green instead of red, one of those late 80’s, early 90’s gritty reboots.
It’s not OVERLY gritty the way some of those are, right? You know, some dickcheese would be like, “Let’s have Superman use his heat vision to heat up a heroin spoon and then super inject it into some drug manufacturer” kind of shit. Longbow Hunters is just a little gritty.
I DO really like the idea of a superhero who’s just a little over the hill.
For me, it was probably that the plot on this one was a little overcomplicated, involving records erasure, a serial killer AND an assassin AND a group of mob types, all sort of related but also unrelated.
I think Oliver Queen is probably one of the more underrated but attractive superheroes. I like his pointy stupid swashbuckler beard. It’s a look. If I wrote Green Arrow today, I’d make sure he had that beard, and he’s wear the Robin Hood hat, and everyone would think he was a hipster asshole. That’d just please me to no end.”
